Use a Personal Laptop to Share Content and Record to Panopto


Share Content

  1. Select Laptop on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller.
  2. Connect the HDMI cable to your laptop.  Additional adaptors are available if needed.
  3. Once connected, a preview of your laptop will display on the two Confidence monitors in front of you.
    1. If the screen is not displaying correctly, push fn + F4 on your keyboard and select either Duplicate or Extend based on your preference.
  4. When ready to present, select Send to Projector on the Crestron Controller to display content on the projector and live view monitor on your left.
    1. Select Whiteboard to mute the projector if you wish to stop showing your screen.

Record to Panopto

  1. From your laptop, open the Panopto Recorder and log in.
  2. Connect the USB cable to your laptop.
  3. Select the video and audio inputs. 
    1. Video: DMU AUD LAPTOP FEED to include the room feed or leave as None if you do not wish to include the room feed.
    2. Audio: Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (DMU AUD LAPTOP FEED Speakerphone).
  4. When ready to record, select Record from the Panopto Recorder.

If you would like to adjust the settings for the video feed, utilize the following steps.

  1. Select Conference/Recording on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller.
  2. Select Laptop in the upper left-hand corner.
  3. Select your desired output format.
    1. Audio + Camera will send only audio and room camera.
    2. Room Presentation will send only audio and the content you are presenting (includes annotations).
    3. Both Camera & Presentation will send audio, the room camera, and the content you are presenting (includes annotations).

 

View and Adjust Room Camera

  1. Select Room Cam on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller.
  2. A preview of the room camera will display on the two Confidence monitors in front of you.
  3. Use the Crestron Controller to adjust the camera as desired.
    1. Select a saved camera preset, and the camera will automatically adjust.
    2. Manually Zoom In or Zoom Out.
    3. Manually pan the camera by holding the appropriate directional button.

 

 

 

Use the Room PC to Share Content and Record to Panopto


Share Content

  1. Select Room PC on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller.
  2. A preview of the room PC will display on the two Confidence monitors in front of you.
  3. When ready to present, select Send to Projector on the Crestron Controller to display content on the projector and live view monitor on your left.
  1. Select Whiteboard to mute the projector if you wish to stop showing your screen.

Record to Panopto

  1. Open the Panopto Recorder on the room PC and log in.
  2. Select the video and audio inputs.
  1. Video: DMU AUD ROOM PC FEED to include the room feed or leave as None if you do not wish to include the room feed.
  2. Audio: DMU AUD ROOM PC FEED Speakerphone.
  1. When ready to record, select Record from the Panopto Recorder.

Start Skype Call

  1. From your laptop, open Skype for Business and log in if needed.
  2. Connect the USB cable to your laptop.
  3. From the top-right corner of the Skype for Business window, click the gear icon to access Options.

  1. Select the audio and video inputs.
    1. Click Audio Device and set to: DMU AUD LAPTOP FEED Speakerphone.
    2. Click Video Device and set to: DMU AUD LAPTOP FEED to include the room feed.
  2. When ready, begin the Skype for Business call.

Annotate Content

  1. Follow the steps above to share content and optionally record using either a personal laptop or the room PC.
  2. Select desired annotation options on the Crestron Controller, and then use your finger to draw/write on the live view monitor (on your left) to add annotations to shared content.

 

 

  1. Annotations display on Panopto recordings and in Skype for Business calls, provided you have selected the appropriate video input (within Panopto or Skype for Business) and have set the output format to either Room Presentation or Both Camera & Presentation (from the Crestron Controller).

 

Wirelessly Share Content from a Windows Laptop

  1. Select Wireless Presenter on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller.
  2. From your laptop, click the Action Center icon ( or ) from the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  3. Select Project.
    1. If you do not see Project as an option, first click Expand and then click Project.
  4. Select Connect to a wireless display and then select the Auditorium.
  5. Enter the passcode displayed on the monitors in the Auditorium.
  6. Once connected, a preview of your laptop will display on the two Confidence monitors in front of you.
  1. If the screen is not displaying correctly, push fn + F4 on your keyboard and select either Duplicate or Extend based on your preference.
  1. When ready to present, select Send to Projector on the Crestron Controller to display content on the projector and live view monitor on your left.

 

Share Content from a Document Camera, DVD Player, Blu-Ray Player

  1. In advance: Check out document camera, DVD player, or Blu-Ray player from the Help Desk as needed.
  2. Select Video Input on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller.
  3. Plug in document camera or player to HDMI or VGA to the right of the podium, and power on the device.
  4. Once connected, a preview of the device will display on the two Confidence monitors in front of you.
  5. When ready to present, select Send to Projector on the Crestron Controller to display content on the projector and live view monitor on your left.

Share Content from a Mobile Video Cart

  1. Contact the Help Desk at least 48 hours in advance to reserve a mobile video cart for use in the Auditorium.
  2. The mobile video cart will be set up and ready to use (provided you reserved it in advance).
  3. Select Video Input on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller.
  4. A preview of the mobile video cart will display on the two Confidence monitors in front of you.  Adjust if needed by physically moving the mobile video cart to the desired position.
  5. When ready to present, select Send to Projector on the Crestron Controller to display content on the projector and live view monitor on your left.
  6. If you want to include the feed from the mobile video cart in a Panopto recording or Skype for Business call, be sure to set the output format to either Room Presentation or Both Camera & Presentation.
