How to Provision Panopto in a D2L Course
This article will show you how to provision Panopto in a D2L course. This process will generate a Panopto folder that matches the name of the D2L course, and provides the appropriate access for all students, staff, and faculty enrolled in the course. Faculty and staff will receive Creator rights to the Panopto folder which will allow them to create and modify recordings within it. Students will be granted Viewer rights to any video within it.
Note: This process should be completed before your course begins and before any lectures or demonstrations are recorded.
A content link to your Panopto recordings can be created for the individual module.
1. Click "Content."
2. From the Content edit page locate the appropriate module (or create one called “Panopto Recordings”) and click "Existing Activities" then "External Learning Tools."
3. From the External Learning Tools screen, select the “Panopto Recordings” integration link to add the link to the course content.
4. Click the newly created link from the module,
the Panopto folder is being provisioned and it may take a few seconds to complete the task. Once finished, the Panopto folder content for the course is then displayed within D2L. It is likely this folder is empty the first time it is connected.
NOTE: Instructors and Students alike may use this link to see the entire course video library.
