Unable to Connect to Server - Zoom Phone

Symptom: When attempting to place a call you receive "Unable to connect to server" "Not connected" or "Call Failed Errors".


Cause: This may occur when waking your computer from Sleep or if you have disconnected and reconnected to a docking station without rebooting your computer.

Solution: Restart the Zoom app using the following steps.

  1. Click the X (close window) to send Zoom to the system tray.
  2. Click the up arrow on the system tray to find the Zoom icon.
  3. Right click on the Zoom icon and select exit.
  4. Restart Zoom by using your desktop link or from the start menu.
  5. Confirm you are now able to make calls and the error is no longer showing.
  6. If the error persists contact the Service Desk at 515-271-1522
