HP Thunderbolt Docking Station - Overview
A docking station is intended to allow your laptop to connect to all of the peripheral devices at your workstation (monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc.).
In this article you will learn about the basic functionality of the HP Thunderbolt Docking Station, and the accompanying features, located at your desk.
Below you will find an image of the HP Thunderbolt Docking Station detailing the available ports.
This particular docking station allows you to connect your laptop to all of your peripherals using a single, USB-C cord. It should be the only cord from the docking station that sticks out toward the center of your desk. You can simply plug it into any of the available USB-C ports on your laptop to get it connected. All of your peripherals should kick over and start functioning properly in the next 10-20 seconds.
NOTE: Unlike the Targus Docking Station the top plate of the HP Thunderbolt Docking Station actually serves as a button to enable the docking station to wake/sleep the laptop itself. While you shouldn't need to use this normally, you may need to utilize it when returning from meetings, lunch, etc.
