PAEA SecureClient Update
PAEA strongly encourages program staff to ask ALL students to update their SecureClient app before their next exam whether they are using PCs or Macs.
You may have noticed in the Exam Delivery Platform that Surpass will be deploying a SecureClient update on Wednesday, April 24, at 7 p.m. ET, for students who use a PC.
This update will require users to temporarily disable text suggestion software, such as the typing assist tools native to Windows, as well as tools like Grammarly. Users will not be able to launch SecureClient without first disabling this tool.
To do so, navigate to Settings > Time & language > Typing and ensure the toggles are set to Off before each exam. (See photo below)
We recommend asking students to complete this update the day before their next exam. The update may take some time and getting it done early will reduce the chance of a delay for students in starting the exam.
PAEA is also anticipating an update for the SecureClient for Macs app soon, so please ensure students check for updates before each exam.
