Panopto - Course access issues for Faculty/Staff or Students
Modified on: Wed, Jan 22 2025 10:38 AMThere is an issue that sometimes occurs when attempting to access folders or videos in new courses. This issue looks a little different depending on if it's Faculty/Staff or Students experiencing the issue, but the fix is the same for both.
Faculty and Staff may just notice that when they search for new courses in Panopto (Browse->Active Courses) they do not see their latest courses.
Students may click on a Panopto video link and may be directed to a page to Request Access.
In either case follow these steps:
1) Log into https://dmu.desire2learn.com/d2l/home
2) Open the course (or any course that is provisioned for Panopto).
3) Open the Content page for that course.
4) Find the Course Recordings or Panopto Recordings module along the left side.
5) Click on the Panopto Recordings external learning tool link.
Once that link has been clicked it will sync your access to all of your Panopto course folders and the videos within them so faculty should see all of their folders, and students should be able to view any of the Panopto links within their courses.
If you cannot find that Panopto Recordings link or if it does not open the Panopto folder for that course when you click it, please contact a course admin or reach out to the Solutions Hub.
