How-To: Attendance PC

For Surface Pro Tablets:

Starting it Up:

Plug in the power adapter and USB-Card reader (needs a small adapter)

Power-on the computer.

Windows will automatically sign in and set up the Digital Display.

Shutting it Down:

Hold the power button for 5 seconds (upper right side)

When prompted - slide the screen down

(computer will appear powered off, but it may take 5 seconds or so before it can be turned back on).

Troubleshooting:

It's locked and asking for a password:

- There is no password. If the user is Kiosk, simply tap the right-arrow in the password box.

It says it's not connected to the internet:

- If this shows up when you first power it on, wait a few seconds so wifi can establish and it will refresh.

- If this happens after it was already being used, you will need shut it down and power it back on.

It beeps after the badge swipe, but nothing happens:

- The text box where it says "Scan Badge:" needs to be selected. Tap on that and try again.
