How To: Search in Perceptive Content
Purpose
Provide the steps to perform both quick and advanced searches in Perceptive Content Desktop application and Perceptive Content Web Application.

Perceptive Content Desktop and Web Application
Steps (Desktop application first, Web application second)
Desktop application:
Quick Search: applies a single condition to the items in the current view and returns the results. You can define the condition on the Quick Search tab of Perceptive Content Explorer, which includes the property list, operator list, and value box.
To perform a Quick Search, go into Documents (from the Toolbar) and perform the following steps:

1. Select the appropriate Document View on the left side (may only one depending on access)
2. Select the appropriate Property
3. Select the Operator
Options are:
i.Is equal to
ii.Is not equal to
iii.Is less than
iv.Is greater than
v.Is less than or equal to
vi.Is greater than or equal to
vii.Starts with
4. Enter the value you are searching for
5. Click Go

Search: allows you to create a more robust search query with more operators to choose from.

1. Select the green plus sign to add conditions to your search criteria.
a.As you add additional constraints the AND operator will automatically apply, however, you can click it to switch it to an OR operator.
- Operators available beyond the basic search operators:
1.Does not start with
2.Is blank
3.Is not blank
4.Is one of
5.Is not one of
6.Is between
7.Is not between

b.You may add multiple conditions to the search query by returning to the green plus sign to add more conditions
- Select the green Go arrow to perform the search
Web application:
Link (must be on campus or on VPN)
To view documents, click the Documents icon.

Select a Document View on the left to open the search bar.
The search function is like the Desktop version, however, there is not a Quick Search option. Click the plus icon to add conditions. Once all conditions are added, click the blue search icon.
