Adobe Acrobat Migration {2025}
Adobe Acrobat 2020 is no longer receiving support or updates after November 30, 2025. Many of you use Adobe Acrobat 2020 to view, create, or edit PDF files. In order to continue to provide you with this functionality, we need to migrate your Adobe Acrobat 2020 license over to new Adobe Acrobat license.
The new Adobe Acrobat is managed within Adobe's Creative Cloud app. The Creative Cloud app will allow easy management of Adobe software for updates and new requests going forward. However, due to some limitations with this license type, the initial migration process will require you to manually install your new license.
ITS will begin to deploy the Adobe Creative Cloud app on Monday, December 1. How long it takes your device to get the deployment will depend on how often your computer is on campus or connected to VPN, and your internet connection speeds. The Adobe installers are quite large and can take more time than other software.
Quick Summary and Important notes
The following is a summary, of what needs to occur. Please see the detailed step by step instructions further in this article if any of these quick steps are unclear to you.

Detailed Step by Step Instructions
Below are step by step instructions with screenshots to help you through the full process.
ITS will deploy the Adobe Creative Cloud app on <insert date>. How long it takes your device to get the deployment will depend on how often your computer is on campus or connected to VPN, and your internet connection speeds. The Adobe installers are quite big and take more time than other software we've deployed.
You should be prompted when the Adobe Creative Cloud app is downloading and installing. You can click the prompt and view it's progress in Software Center or you can just ignore it and let it run.
Once it is finished you can follow the steps below.
Launch Adobe Creative Cloud
1) Clicks the Windows button and type "Creative" to select the "Adobe Creative Cloud" app.

Note: The first time you launch it the software may update silently and won't seem to respond. Give it a moment, and a notification should pop up indicating that Creative Cloud has been updated. Then repeat steps 6 and 7 to attempt to launch it again.

Sign into the Adobe Creative Cloud app
1) The first page that pops up will be an Adobe page. Sign in with your full email address (FirstName.LastName@dmu.edu) and then click Continue.
Note: If you accidently select any other option you'll need to sign out and try again.

2) Select Company or School Account (NOT Personal Account, or you'll need to sign out and start again).

3) When prompted for a Microsoft sign in, enter your DMU UPN (username@dmu.edu)
4) Click Next.

Note: If you are off campus you may need to also provide your normal DMU password and authenticate it.
Install Adobe Acrobat
1) Once you're signed into the Adobe Creative Cloud app go to the Apps tab on the left side.
2) Then look for the Acrobat app.

3) Click Install and it will show you the progress as it's installing.

4) When the Open button appears you can click it to launch Acrobat.

You can continue to launch Acrobat from that Creative Cloud App if you prefer, but it will also now be available under the Windows button if you search for Acrobat on your computer.
