Quick Start Guide Updated November 2019 Basic Steps Press the Power button on the Crestron controller (mounted on the wall behind the desk). Select your presentation source from the left column of the Crestron Controller to show it on the room display at the far end of the room. If using HDMI, hook up your laptop to the docking station on the desk. Use the volume dial or mute button on the Crestron controller to adjust presentation volume as desired. When you’re done using the equipment, press the Power button again to shut down the system. Presentation Sources HDMI – A DMU-issued faculty/staff laptop hooked up to the docking station on the desk. Once docked, your screen will also display on the desk monitor, and you can use the keyboard and mouse on the desk. If your device is not compatible with the docking station, use the instructions below to present wirelessly instead. Wireless – Present wirelessly from your laptop or mobile device. From a Windows laptop Click the Action Center icon ( or ) from the bottom-right corner of the screen. Select Project. If you do not see Project as an option, first click Expand and then click Project. Select Connect to a wireless display and then select the lecture hall. Enter the passcode displayed on the monitors in the lecture hall.

Clinic 823 – TEAM Room Quick Start Guide Basic Steps Retrieve the podium (including cables) from room 831. Microphones, if needed, are in room 830. If Crestron Controller (located to your left as you enter the room) displays DMU logo, touch anywhere to wake it up. Projection screen will automatically extend when the system is turned on. Select your Presentation Source from the bottom row of the Crestron Controller to display it on the projector. When you’re done using the equipment, select Power Off and then confirm by selecting Yes, Shutdown. Projection screen will automatically retract when the system is turned off. Presentation Sources Front Wall – Laptop plugged in at the front of the room (to your right as you enter, past the mirrors). You must connect here if you want to record to Panopto or use video conferencing (Zoom, Webex, etc.). Rear Wall – Laptop plugged in at the back of the room (to your left as you enter) Ceiling Camera – Room camera located in ceiling, useful for capturing podium or overhead views, can be adjusted. Column Camera – Room camera located in far wall, useful for capturing entire room or side views, cannot be adjusted. Conferencing/Recording Select Conferencing/Recording from the bottom row of the Crestron Controller to adjust output formats for sending to Panopto or video conferencing app, (Zoom, Webex, etc.). Note that you must connect your laptop to the Front Wall (to your right as you enter, past the mirrors) if you want to record to Panopto or use your video conferencing app. There are 3 output formats available: Audio Only will send only audio and requires use of one of the microphones stored in room 830. Ceiling Camera will send both audio (if microphones are being used) and feed from the ceiling camera. Column Camera will send both audio (if microphones are being used) and feed from the column camera. Use a Personal Laptop to Share Content and Record to Panopto Note: If you want to record to Panopto, you must connect your laptop to the Front Wall. You can use either the Front Wall or the Rear Wall if you will only be sharing content. Share Content Select Front Wall on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller. Connect the HDMI cable to your laptop and the wall. Additional adaptors are available if needed. You can retrieve the podium and cables from room 831. Once connected, your laptop will display on the room projector. If the screen is not displaying correctly, push fn + F4 on your keyboard and select either Duplicate or Extend based on your preference. Disconnect your laptop if you wish to stop showing your screen. Record to Panopto From your laptop, open the Panopto Recorder and log in. Connect the USB cable to your laptop and the wall (small end goes in the wall). Select the video and audio inputs. Video: MPR 823 to include the room feed or leave as None if you do not wish to include the room feed. (The ceiling camera will be the default feed unless you select otherwise using the steps below.) Audio: Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (MPR 823 Speakerphone). (You must use one of the microphones—stored in room 830—for audio to be included in the feed.) When ready to record, select Record from the Panopto Recorder. If you would like to adjust the settings for the video feed, utilize the following steps. Select Conferencing/Recording on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller. Select your desired output format. Audio Only will send only room audio. Ceiling Camera will send both audio and feed from the ceiling camera. Column Camera will send both audio and feed from the column camera. View and Adjust Ceiling Camera Note: The Ceiling Camera is adjustable, but the Column Camera is not. Select Ceiling Camera on the bottom row of the Crestron Controller to display the camera feed on the room projector. Use the Crestron Controller to adjust the camera as desired. Select a saved camera preset, and the camera will automatically adjust. Manually Zoom In or Zoom Out. Manually pan the camera by holding the appropriate directional button. Use a Personal Laptop to Engage in a Video Conference Call Note: If you want to engage in a video conference call, you must connect your laptop to the Front Wall. Note: If these options don’t show up in your video conferencing app, first right-click the speaker icon in the bottom-right corner of your laptop screen and select Playback Devices. Then right-click LG Signage and set it as both the Default Device and the Default Communications Device. Then return to steps 4a and 4b. When ready, begin the video conference call.
