How To: International Access & Ensuring You Can Access Your DMU Account When Traveling Abroad
Staff and Students are able to access their DMU accounts from most places internationally. When doing so, the standard Multi-Factor Authentication rules will apply so make sure you have an authentication method set up on the phone or mobile device you will be traveling with.
Restrictions:
There are several countries that have restrictions in place to prevent access. Those countries are:
- China
- Indonesia
- Iran
- Nigeria
- North Korea
- Russia
- South Africa
- Vietnam
Exceptions:
Students and Staff can be granted exceptions if traveling to these countries. If you are going to or have students going to a country on the restricted list, please notify the Solutions Hub. Provide the name(s), location(s), and time frame.
VPN:
DMU cannot guarantee that our VPN will be accessible for Staff/Faculty when traveling abroad. VPN access may be blocked by an internet provider or even the government of the country you are visiting. If you encounter issues connecting to the VPN please contact the Solutions Hub and we will do our best to troubleshoot the issue.
