Overview: Servers, File Storage, and Backup Services

These services provide data, backup, and storage to support our institutional activities. This includes central storage, digital repositories, system backup solutions, server virtualization, and managed servers.
DATA CENTER
The Data Center offers a fully alarmed, generator-backed, and secure hosting service for servers and other hardware that require high availability and/or security.
PRIVATE CLOUD SERVICE (SERVER VIRTUALIZATION)
Information Technology Services (ITS) hosts applications on our Private Cloud Service hosted in a VMWare environment. Server Virtualization has become a mainstream solution and provides a scalable, cost effective, efficiently managed virtualization environment for the campus.
FILE STORAGE
ITS provides multiple resources to save and share your files.
NETWORK STORAGE
ITS provides network shares for employees, departments, and various groups. We also support modification and decommissioning of these shares.
ONEDRIVE FOR BUSINESS
All faculty, staff and employees have a Microsoft OneDrive to use while at DMU. OneDrive allows you to share files and folders with others.
SHAREPOINT TEAM SITE
ITS provides access to SharePoint via Office 365. This services allows users to share files, resources, news, etc.
BACKUPS
ITS maintains disaster-recovery backups of ITS-managed institutional servers and file shares.
