Installing Global Protect VPN
Please use the below steps to install Global Protect VPN. Global Protect VPN is installed automatically on DMU issued laptops. First Check to see if it is already installed. Click the arrow in your system tray to expand it. You should see a globe icon in your expanded system tray. If you do not see the globe icon, use these instructions to install global protect from Sofware Center.

Using Global Protect VPN
Connect to the DMU network using the Global Protect VPN by following the instructions below. Global protect uses your Windows login to connect to the DMU Network. No additional login or multi-factor is required. Expand your system try to find the Global Protect Icon. Double click the Global Protect icon to open the application. Confirm the portal is "vpn.dmu.edu" and click connect. The vpn will show connecting. Confirm Global Protect has connected. Learn how to install Global Protect Here.

Updating Global Protect VPN
Effective: 8/9/24 Scope: All DMU employees There is an available update to the Global Protect VPN client. This article will walk you through the expected behavior. Current version supported: 6.1.4-711 Windows and MacOS steps below. Windows: 1. Connect to VPN as normal (If you are already connected, the update will prompt when you connect next time). 2. You will see a prompt for an update. Click Download. 3. Follow any prompts that you are presented with to continue with the install. - As it installs you may see black command prompt windows pop up and disappear, this is normal. Once done, the Global Protect icon will return in the system tray (by the clock on your taskbar). Now let's verify the correct version is installed. 4. Click the Global Protect VPN icon. 5. Click the Menu button > Settings > About. 6. Verify your version matches the Currently Supported Version noted at the top of the article. - If it does not, it may not have completed the install yet, give it a few minutes and check again. MacOS: 1. Connect to VPN as normal (If you are already connected, the update will prompt when you connect next time). 2. You will see a prompt for an update. Click Download. - you will see the download progress 3. Click Install and Follow any prompts that you are presented with to continue with the install. 4. The app will close and reopen when done. Verify your version matches the Currently Supported version listed above. 5. Click the icon on the Menubar > click the Menu > Settings > About
