Overview
Playlists allow videos within your Panopto site to be presented in a single, ordered list even if those videos exist in different folders. When enabled, any user with Creator access to a folder will have the ability to create playlists in that folder.Prerequisites
- Creator access to Panopto
1. Create A Playlist
1.1. Click the Create button and then select Playlist (Fig. 1).Figure 1
1.2. The Create Playlist window will open. Name your playlist, choose a folder where your playlist will reside, and write a description for the playlist if needed. Click Create (Fig. 2).
1.3. The Overview page for the new playlist will open (Fig. 3). Here, you can edit the playlist information and description, add videos to the playlist, and delete the playlist.
2. Adding Videos to a Playlist
2.1. In the Overview tab, click + Add videos (Fig. 4).

2.2. A video chooser will open, and you can search for videos to add. As long as you have at least viewer access to the video, you can add it to your playlist. Choose the videos you want and click on Add (Fig. 5).
2.3. When finished adding videos, click on Close. Under Videos in Playlist, you will see the videos added. Reorder these videos by clicking and dragging them. Close this window when you have finished editing your playlist (Fig. 6).

3. Viewing the Playlist
3.1. Go to the folder where the playlist is located. The thumbnail for the playlist will be from the first video, and the playlist icon will be overlaid on top. Click the thumbnail or the title to open the playlist (Fig. 7).3.2. The video viewer will open in a new tab. The full list of videos in the playlist will be shown on the left. After 5 seconds the list will collapse, and the first video will automatically play (Fig. 8).
3.3. Click on the playlist icon in the upper left corner to reopen the list of videos (Fig. 9).

4. Sharing a Playlist
4.1. To share a playlist, locate your playlist and click on the Share icon (Fig. 10)4.2. Under People and groups, start typing the name of the person or group with whom you want to share the video. Based on the name or group you start typing, a suggested user list will appear for you to select the correct person or group from (Fig. 11a). Note: Underneath People and groups, you will notice information about whom the video is already shared with: the number of groups or people with access and where the video's permissions are inherited from.
4.2.a. Once selected, you can opt to do the following: Notify people, which sends them an email to let them know they have access to the video, and Message, where you can type in a custom message to send to them regarding the playlist. Once you have done this, select Send to share the playlist (Fig. 11b).

4.4. You can also share using a link. If you have set Who can access this playlist to any option except Restricted, you can copy and share the link by selecting the Copy Link button that appears. Link copied will appear at the bottom, indicating that you have successfully copied the link (Fig. 13). Optionally, select the checkbox next to Start at and add the timestamp at which you'd like the playlist to start when the audience opens the link provided.

4.5. Using the guidance in step 4.3., above, set the sharing option to Anyone who has the link. The options for Facebook and Twitter will appear in color, rather than greyed out. Select either the Facebook or Twitter icon for the social media site you wish to share the video on (Fig. 14). Please note: If you wish to share the video on a different site, please copy and paste the direct link using step 4.4., above, instead.

Important last step!
4.6. If the playlist is shared more widely than the videos contained in it, some viewers may not be able to access all the videos. To give all the playlist viewers access to all the videos in the playlist, click on Access and click Synchronize Access (Fig. 15). Permissions for all videos that you have Creator access to will be synced. This will add anyone who has access to the playlist as a Viewer on the videos within the playlist.
