Smart Chapters create an automatic table of contents through Optical Character Recognition (OCR).  This allows Panopto to automatically generate the table contents through our Zoom Cloud Recordings, rather than strictly from PowerPoint presentations.  This feature is ideal for making longer recordings easier to navigate!

Smart Chapters are automatically applied to your Panopto Recordings.  If a previously recorded video does not have smart chapters automatically applied, and you would like them to be applied, open the video in the editor.

Select the Contents tab from the left-hand navigation, and move the toggle button to the right of the Show Smart Chapters option, which will change to Hide Smart Chapters if smart chapters are enabled (Fig. 1).
