Des Moines University provides access to desktop and mobile applications to support teaching, learning, productivity, and research. We provide hardware and software support for DMU-issued devices and equipment, as well as limited support for personal devices, including laptops, mobile phones, and tablets.

OFFICE 365

Office 365 is a cloud-based productivity suite that is available to DMU faculty, staff, and students. You can access all applications via your web browser or download apps to your device(s). Apps that are most commonly used at DMU are Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and SharePoint.  Microsoft Teams are becoming powerful tools for communication within the DMU community.

EMAIL AND CALENDAR

Outlook is the official email and calendar system for Des Moines University. Each account has unlimited quota, works on any device, includes powerful mail search tools, and integrates with other Office 365 tools, such as OneDrive, Sharepoint, and OneNote.

STUDENTS

STUDENT DEVICES

DMU students are required to bring their own device to support their educational activities. Students may purchase a device through DMU's preferred vendor at a discount or select another device that meets the published minimum specifications.  Devices purchased through DMU's preferred vendor can be reviewed by DMU Solutions Hub staff and if repairs are needed, can be expedited to DMU's hardware vendor for repair.

Support provided to all students includes:

  • Maintaining the availability of the DMU wireless network, authentication systems and University-supplied applications required for learning activities.
  • Troubleshooting connectivity or authentication issues on Personally Owned Computing Device (POCD)
  • Configuration of POCD for communication with DMU Email system (Office365).
  • Providing software application support for applications provided by DMU and required for learning activities on devices that meet minimum requirements.
  • Providing limited software application support for other applications. Note: It is the responsibility of the device owner to have and provide authentic, individually owned and registered software before any assistance will be provided.
  • Providing checkout laptops in the event of personal device failure.
