Force Autofit for Scaling Issues with Poll Everywhere PowerPoint Add-In
Modified on: Tue, Dec 17 2024 1:30 PMWith version 4.2.0 of the Windows PowerPoint add-in, Poll Everywhere released a partial fix for a scaling issue that can result in your Poll Everywhere activities appearing too large and therefore getting cut off (such as in the screenshot below). The issue only happens when the scaling settings on your primary monitor do not match those of a secondary presentation monitor, which is uncommon.
The new version added a "force autofit" setting to resize content appropriately in the most common use case--with 1920x1080p resolution monitors and when the primary monitor is set to 150% scaling and the presentation monitor is set to 100% scaling. Resolution and scaling settings can be found under display settings.
If you encounter this scaling issue, follow the steps below to enable the "force autofit" setting for the Poll Everywhere PowerPoint add-in on Windows computers.
- Open PowerPoint and go to the "Poll Everywhere" tab.
- Select "Settings" and then "Display".
- A pop-up window labeled "Autofit Settings" will appear. Check the box for "Enable Force Autofit" and click "Save".
- Close out of PowerPoint and then reopen your presentation to finish applying the changes.
CAUTION: The changes will not take effect until you restart PowerPoint.
