Software Update Notification from Software Center
Software Center - is part of Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), which allows Information Technology Services (ITS) to deliver, manage, support and update applications and services across campus. Software Center will allow you to install a variety of licensed software, updates, and plug-ins on your own computer without having to contact ITS for assistance. When ITS makes software updates available, a notification will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen that states "Software changes are required. Your IT department requires changes to the software on your computer. Click on this notification, or the Software Center icon in your taskbar, and select view required software to view a summary of required software updates. Here, you can choose to either install all updates now, or schedule them to be installed during non-business hours. If the software update requires a reboot you may be prompted with a "Restart Required" notification. Click on this notification to be presented with options to restart now or delay the restart for a future time.

Software Center – SCCM Software Center is part of Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), which allows Information Technology Services (ITS) to deploy, manage, support and update applications and services across domain joined systems. Software Center will allow you to install a variety of licensed software, and software updates on your own computer without requiring administrative permissions. * You must be on Campus or on VPN to install software from Software Center. Using Software Center Press the ⊞ key on your keyboard, search for “Software Center”. From the search results, click the Software Center icon. A list of available software will be displayed. Select the program you’d like to install. Click the Install button. The software should install shortly.

Manually Run SCCM Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle
This is the quickest way to force Software Center to check for new applications and updates. You will need to be on the DMU network or connected to VPN for this to work. Open the Configuration Manager control panel on the computer. Start button > start typing "control panel" > click Control Panel Switch to the Actions tab. Select Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle to start the computer policy, and then select Run Now. The selected cycle will run and might take several minutes to finish. Select OK to confirm the prompt. You should see any changes shortly in Software Center if there are new applications or updates available.
