MonitorEDU is a remote proctoring software used for testing off campus or when a live proctor is not available on campus.
MonitorEDU offers Express Live Proctoring that allows proctoring on demand without an appointment, and without downloading anything on your computer. A second device (in addition to your testing laptop) will be needed such as a cellphone, tablet, or laptop.

MonitorEDU – Student Proctoring Instructions
MonitorEDU offers Express Live Proctoring that allows proctoring on demand without an appointment, and without downloading anything on your computer. A second device (in addition to your testing laptop) will be needed such as a cellphone, tablet, or laptop. A quick, 90-second video can be found HERE that shows you how MonitorEDU works. Pre-Test MonitorEDU On your proctoring device, navigate to https://monitoredu.com/faq Click on the picture that says “Click to Test Connection” Fill out the form to connect. The proctor will connect with you and will give you a link. Type this into a web browser on your proctoring device - this will connect your device to the proctoring service. You will see a box appear, click it to start the video chat (it may take a few seconds to load before and after you click). If you can see yourself then it is working! Note: If it is not working the problem may be an outdated or older device that is not compatible with the service. Please contact the Solutions Hub at (515) 271-1522. On Exam Day Connect – Setup – Start Exam 1. On your proctoring device, navigate to https://takemytest.live/ Pick the school/organization from the dropdown menu a. US Colleges/Universities b. Des Moines University 2.Fill out the form: Name, Phone Number, and Exam. 3. The proctor will connect with you and will give you a link. Type this into a web browser on your proctoring device - this will connect your device to the proctoring service. 4. The proctor will ask you to use the camera to show your exam environment, your computer screen, and the area around your computer. Make sure your exam space is clear (note: you may have a blank sheet of scratch appear and two pencils). If you have scratch paper, complete the check by showing the front and then back of the scratch paper to the webcam. 5.Place camera and start test a. Place the camera to the side and behind you so that it can see you, your desk area, and your computer screen. b. You may need to prop up your phone using another object. Helpful tips: To eliminate distractions, disable your notifications. You can do this within your mobile device settings or you can put it in airplane mode (keep connected to WiFi).
