Perceptive Content - Print in Color using the ImageNow Printer
ImageNow: How to print in color with an ImageNow Printer Description To print in color with an ImageNow Printer is done in 2 steps: 1. Update the INI file 2. Update the Printer Preference to Color. Automated: While On Campus or connected to VPN do the following: 1. Click your START button and type in this path \\dfs-dsm\#tera7\Software\ImageNow and press enter 2. Copy the Printer-Color folder to the Desktop. 3. Right-Click the Update-PrinterColor.bat file and Run as Administrator 4. Follow the prompts and complete. ================================================================================================== ================================================================================================== ================================================================================================== If you need to do this manually here are the steps: Step 1: Manual INI Change To configure the ImageNow Printer to print in color without adding an additional printer installation, do the following: 1. Go to the [drive]:\\ImageNow\etc folder, and then open the inowprint.ini file in a text editor. 2. Under the [Compression] section, remove the asterisk before [Compression] if one is present, and then update the following settings to the listed values: Note: Unlike previous versions of Perceptive Content, version 7.1.3 and higher does not have a [Compression] section in the inowprint.ini file. The compression values are listed under the [Tiff File Format] section. Additionally, the Color reduction and Dithering method settings are moved to the [Save] section in these newer versions. Color reduction=color Dithering method=Halftone BW compression=Group4 Color compression=Medium quality JPEG Indexed compression=Packbits Greyscale compression=Medium quality JPEG 3. In Perceptive Content 7.1.3 and higher, remove the asterisk before [Devmode settings]. 4. Save and close the inowprint.ini file. 5. Open Windows "Printers & Scanners" or "Devices and Printers" (depending on Windows version). 6. Right-click "ImageNow Printer", and then click "Printing references". 7. Click the "Paper/Quality" tab, and then select "Color". 8. Click "Apply", and then click "OK". TIFF files with LZW compression cannot be annotated in the Perceptive Content or ImageNow Client. Color and Greyscale should be set to Medium quality JPEG instead of LZW to allow for annotations. Step 2: Manually Update the Printer Preferences 1. Click START and go to Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners > Printers 2. Find the ImageNow Printer and select it then Manage 3. Click Print Preferences 4. Click the Paper/Quality tab and Choose Color then OK

Perceptive Content Desktop - Digitally Sign a Contract/File
This document will walk you through using the ImageNow/Perceptive Content Desktop client (version 7.3) to sign a contract or file. This is a two step process for signing and then routing forward. *Note - as of May 2022, the second step is not applicable to faculty. Once faculty signs the document they may notify Academic Affairs for routing until further notice. I. How to digitally sign documents using the ImageNow/Perceptive Content desktop client. This is very similar to the WebNow version. Only difference is the one extra screen. 1. Open ImageNow (Perceptive Content) 2. Sign in 3. Go to Documents 4. Find the category/folder in the left pane under Documents (example: Faculty Contracts: Click on Contracts – Faculty Review) 5. Find the contract/file in the right pane and Double-Click to open 6. Use the arrows to navigate to the signature pages Some people will need to sign more than one page 7. Click the Digital Signature icon (red ribbon) Click in the upper most left corner of the signature box (this is to help align the signature box) If the signature is misaligned click the 4 arrow icon and they can move it _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ II. How to route the document to the next queue. (This step does not apply to faculty - please send an e-mail to AcademicAffairs@dmu.edu once signed.) 1. Select the menu option at the top of the screen entitled “Workflow” and choose “Open in Workflow”. 2. Once the document has been opened in the workflow, select the menu option at the top of the screen entitled “Workflow” and choose “Route Forward”. 3. You have completed the contract approval process! Once the document has been finalized, it will appear in the “Contracts – Completed” folder available on the left hand side of the screen.

Install Perceptive Content (ImageNow) - Desktop Client
This will walk you through installing the Perceptive Content (ImageNow) Desktop Client to your DMU PC. - If you want the web version click this link - https://perceptiveapps.dmu.edu/contentapps/#login To complete this you will need to be on the DMU network, either On Campus or VPN. On Demand training is available for those that are interested – just set up your Hyland profile to access! ========================================= 1. Click your START button and type Software Center and press Enter or click Open. 2. Click on the icon for Perceptive Content – ImageNow 7.7 3. Click the Install button. 4. The installation is completely automated and will take around 15 to 30 minutes to complete. When it is completed the STATUS will say "INSTALLED"

Perceptive Content - Create Annotations in Content APPs (WebNOW)
Please use the below steps to add annotations in Content Apps. 1. Select Create Annotation 2. A gray box will pop up – click to add to document. This is where the annotation will display once complete. 3. A pop up box will display to allow for annotation type selection. Select type and template.

Perceptive Content - ImageNow Printer Error - "Unable to get CLSID of controller"
If you are receiving the following error when attempting to use the ImageNow Printer in Windows please follow the steps below to resolve. Error: "Unable to get CLSID of controller" Occurs when using the ImageNow Printer to add a document to Perceptive Content Screenshot: Solution: Run a repair of the software. 1. Close Perceptive Content . 2. Click the Windows START button 3. Type "apps" and click "Apps & Features" 4. Scroll to find Perceptive Content 5. Click Modify Once the Perceptive Content Install Wizard appears: 6. Click Next 7. Select Repair and click Next 8. When finished close that window

Image Now/Perceptive Content Remote Access
Users must be signed VPN to access Perceptive Content while off campus. This applies to both the desktop and web application. Failure to connect to VPN prior to launching the application will result in an error message that states, "The ImageNow Server network connection is temporarily unavailable. Try your request later."
