Overview: Teaching and Learning Services
Technology is a powerful tool for transforming learning. It can help affirm and advance relationships between educators and students, reinvent our approaches to learning and collaboration, shrink long-standing equity and accessibility gaps, and adapt learning experiences to meet the needs of all learners. At Des Moines University, we are exploring innovative approaches and tools that provide learner-centered classroom environments and empower personalization for our students.
The Educational Technology team provides application support for teaching and learning tools and is available to assist with new educational technology tool selection and review.

LinkedIn Learning
All faculty, staff, and students have access to LinkedIn Learning and the thousands of on-demand courses in a broad range of topics. Courses are broken into bite-size videos to make it easier to fit into your schedule and allow you to focus on a key topic of interest. You can also download videos to watch offline.
Panopto
Panopto is our current video management platform at DMU. It can be used to record content on your computer screen either at your desk or in the classrooms during a lecture. It also allows the option to upload pre-existing videos as well as edit out parts of a video using a web browser. Any videos within Panopto can have share permissions modified to only allow access to those who need it. This includes a D2L integration that limits course videos to only staff, faculty, and students enrolled in that course.
Access Panopto through the application on your computer or mobile device or via the Panopto website.
Poll Everywhere
Poll Everywhere is a real-time polling tool to gather feedback during classes and presentations. It can be used as a standalone platform or embedded into PowerPoint presentations. Students or participants can respond from a laptop, phone, tablet, or desktop computer.

DMU offers all faculty, staff, and students a Zoom license for online meetings with up to 300 participants. Webinar licenses and additional meeting capacity are available by request.
