Outlook - "Allow this website to Configure" PopUp
You may receive the following PopUp when using Outlook. This may happen following Microsoft Exchange upgrades or server maintenance. If you encounter the below PopUp ensure the address given is "XXXX.dmu.edu/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml." If so it is ok to click allow.

Outlook - Email Limitations
Blocked File Types For security purposes certain file types are restricted from being sent or received by email. You may encounter an error if you attempt to send these file types, or your recipient may not receive the attachment. The following file types are blocked by DMU explicitly. 'vbs' or 'sct' or 'scr' or 'reg' or 'pif' or 'pcd' or 'msi' or 'ms' or 'mdb' or 'lnk' or 'jse' or 'isp' or 'ins' or 'inf' or 'hta' or 'hlp' or 'exe' or 'crt' or 'cpl' or 'com' or 'cmd' or 'chm' or 'bat' or 'zip' Additionally, Microsoft may automatically block certain file types that have a high likelihood of having a malicious payload. You can find more info on that here. Attachment File Size Limits Due to storage and bandwidth limitations, attachment file size in outlook is restricted to 36MB. If you need to send a file larger than 36MB please contact the service desk and we can assist with the best options for sharing large files. External Forwarding Forwarding of email to an external mailbox is not allowed from any DMU mailbox. Sending Secure and Confidential Information Confidential information detection is turned on for all mailboxes. You may receive a warning if you attempt to send unencrypted confidential information. Word - Word Prints Additional Page
Symptoms When you print a document in Microsoft Word an additional page is printed that contains information about the document. Cause This behavior occurs if you selected the Document Properties check box on the Print tab from the Options dialog box. Resolution To resolve this behavior, clear the Document Properties check box. To do this, follow these steps: On the Ribbon Menu click File Click options at the bottom Left of your Screen. Select Display on the Options Menu. Under Printing options uncheck Print document properties.

Outlook - Working Offline
Symptom: Outlook is showing "Offline" or "Working Offline" Resolution: On the Ribbon Menu select "Send/Receive" Under Preferences find the Work Offline Button. Click the button and ensure it is no longer highlighted. Check at the bottom of the window to ensure Outlook now says Connected to: Microsoft Exchange.

PowerPoint - How to annotate on slides during a presentation
When you're showing a presentation, you can draw onscreen with a digital pen to emphasize a point or show connections. Turn on the pen and draw in Slide Show 1. On the Slide Show tab, click either From Beginning or From Current Slide to start your slide show. 2. Some helper buttons appear at the lower left corner of your slide. The one that looks like a pen determines how the mouse pointer appears to viewers: 3. Click that Pen button, and then choose Pen from the pop-up menu: Click and drag the mouse to draw on the slide. (Optional) To turn off the pen, right-click the slide, point to Pointer Options, and then click Arrow Options and choose the option you prefer. Change the color of the pen By default, the color of the pen is red, but several colors available. To change the color of the pen: In Presenter View, click the Pen icon at the lower left portion of the slide: On the pop-up menu, point to Ink Color, and then select the color you want. Keep or discard ink annotations At the end of your slide show, when you're about to return to Normal (editing) view, PowerPoint gives you the opportunity to save your ink annotations. Choose Discard to get rid of the annotations. Choose Keep to save the ink-pen annotations on the slides. Erase ink that you've draw on slides To remove some or all of what you’ve written or drawn, right-click the slide, point to Pointer Options, and then do one of the following: Click Eraser, and then hold down the left mouse button and drag the eraser over what you want to erase. Click Erase All Ink on Slide to erase everything you’ve written or drawn on the slide.

Outlook - Solution: Prevent Outlook from Automatically adding a Teams Meeting.
Issue Description: When creating a new meeting in Outlook the Teams plug in automatically adds a Teams Meeting even if you are scheduling a Zoom Meeting. Cause: The latest Teams Plug In Update from Microsoft enables this behavior by default. Solution: In Outlook Select File from the Ribbon. Then select Options at the bottom Left. In the Options Menu select Calendar on the Left. In the calendar Settings Uncheck "Add online meeting to all meetings." Click Ok. Now only the meeting option you choose will appear in your Calendar event.

Using the To-Do Bar in Outlook allows you to view your Calendar appointments and Tasks while on the main "Mail" pane. This can assist in electronic note taking and organization. 1. On the top navigation bar, select "View" 2. Click the arrow on "To-Do Bar" and select "Calendar" and "Tasks" until they have a check mark. 3. Confirm items are on your Mail pane.
