How To: Install Campus Printers on DMU Issued/Managed Computers
This article will walk you through installing the global (find me print) queues for both the Des Moines Campus and the West Des Moines Campus on DMU issued/managed computers. For personally owned computers, follow the instructions outlined here: https://dmu.freshservice.com/support/solutions/articles/14000044108 Important: The campuses have two separate print queues/servers. You will be able to print to both queues from either location. However, print jobs sent to printers for the Des Moines campus will not be available to release at West Des Moines campus and vice versa. Requirements: An active network connection to DMU, either on campus or on VPN A DMU issued/managed computer. Windows: Install: Staff_Printers_Xerox (DM Campus) 1. Click the Windows (START) button and type \\printers and press Enter 2. Locate Staff_Printers_Xerox 3. Double click to install You will see a print queue window open when successful. 4. (Optional) Click the Print menu in the print queue window and click Set as Default Printer Xerox_Printers (WDM Campus) 1. Click the Windows (START) button and type \\print and press Enter 2. Locate Xerox_Printers 3. Double-Click to install the printer You will see a print queue window open when successful. 4. (Optional) Click the Print menu in the print queue window and click Set as Default Printer Mac (WDM and DM Campus) 1. Open the Self Service application. 2. Find the printer you want and click the Install button below it. Troubleshooting: MacOS 14.4 - If you see an error from Self Service like below, you may need to allow full disk access to a service. Go to System Settings > Privacy and Security > Full Disk Access Find com.microsoft.dlp and enable.

Student Print Accounts (Papercut)
In order to print you will need to have money on your Papercut account. Follow these steps to add credit to your account. Costs: Black and White (B/w): $.05 per printed side Color: $.50 per printed side Important: All print jobs will be B/W unless you choose to print Color in the printer preferences. Adding Money: Log into Pulse Click Printing Credits located in the left panel Enter your DMU Username and Password Click Add Credit link on left panel Select an amount in the drop down field Click Add value Complete the payment information screen and click Pay Now The amount will be added to your account. How To: Install Campus Printers on Personal Computers (non-DMU issued/managed)
This document will walk you through installing the campus printers on personally owned computers. For DMU issued/managed computers follow instructions here: https://dmu.freshservice.com/support/solutions/articles/14000044049 Important: Students will use Xerox_Printers (WDM Campus). Students need special permissions to print to the DM Campus printers (Staff_Printers_Xerox) Requirements: An active, on-campus, network connection Valid DMU username and password Windows: 1. Click on Start 2. Type in the server address for the campus print server you need to install and press Enter \\printers (DM Campus) \\print (WDM Campus) 3. Enter your DMU UPN credentials Student; Pre-2024 ([username]@student.dmu.edu), 2024 and later ([username]@dmu.edu) Employee: [username]@dmu.edu 4. Check the box to Remember my Credentials 4. Locate the printer you need and Double-Click to install Staff_Printers_Xerox (DM Campus) Xerox_Printers (WDM Campus) <span class="fr-mk" style="display: none;"> </span> MacOS 1. Click the + sign from the Printers & Scanners page (located from System Preferences) 2. Press Control and click on the Tool Bar to see the submenu, and select “Customize Toolbar…” 3. Click and drag the Advanced gear icon onto the toolbar, next to the Windows icon and click Done 4. Click the Advanced option from the toolbar, and use the following settings: Type: Windows printer via spools Device: Another Device Name: [enter any name you'd like] Driver: Generic PostScript 5. URLs to use are: smb://printers/Staff_Printers_Xerox (DM Campus) smb://print/Xerox_Printers (WDM Campus) 6. On the next page, select the option for Duplex printing When you first print, you will be prompted to enter your DMU UPN credentials Students:[username]@student.dmu.edu (or [username]@dmu.edu - depending on your account creation date) Employees: [username]@dmu.edu Selecting “Remember this password in my keychain” will hold your credentials so you don’t have to re-enter them. Troubleshooting: If you input your username or password wrong, you will see Hold for Authentication on the print job. Either try sending another print job to re-enter credentials, or remove and re-add the printer if that does not work. (updated 6/7/24)

Log In to Xerox MFP Printers
There are two ways to access the Print and Scan features of our Xerox Multi-Function Printers. Badge Scan - Each Xerox Device is equipped with a Badge Reader. To log Into the Device simply place your badge over the reader. A beep will let you know that your badge was read, and the Multi-Function Printer should now display the Papercut Menu. Manual Log in - If you have forgotten or misplaced your badge, you can also log into the Multi-Function Printers manually with your DMU Account. At the Login Screen press the keyboard button On the next Screen enter your DMU User ID. This will be the same username you use for your laptop. Press OK. Click Here to learn more about DMU User IDs. On the next Screen enter your password. This will be the same password you use for your laptop. Press OK. You will now be at the Papercut Menu.

Requesting Printer Support or Supplies
The information below will guide you through the If you are needing help with the printer, please review the information below. Training: Are you in need of training or How-Tos? Check out the articles already provided. Most questions can be answered using them. Training/How-To Articles Didn't find what you were looking for in the articles? Fill out the Printer Support Form (see below). Supplies: Laserfax monitors toner levels and delivers spares to the supply cabinets on each floor when a printer reaches a certain toner threshold. If you do find you are out of a particular supply such as Toner or Staples and need to order/request additional printing supplies. Contact Laserfax at 515-226-9957. Be sure to have the customer ID listed on the service tag of the printer. If you have an urgent need for Printer supplies, please contact the Solutions Hub. They maintain a limited inventory of supplies for emergency use. Old Supplies (Toner, Waste Cartridges, Drums) should be placed in the box of the replacement supply. The Box should be marked as Used and placed near the printer or back in the supply cabinet. Laserfax will periodically collect the spent supply cartridges and return them to Xerox for recycling. Paper is ordered through Storey Kenworthy by the designated person in your department. Device issue: If the printer is in an error state or not working as intended, fill out the Printer Support form linked below. This article is an overview of the printing services on the Des Moines Campus Printers. Global / Find-Me-Print DMU offers a global "find-me-print" queue for both the DM and WDM campuses. The queue for the Des Moines Campus Is Staff_Printers_Xerox (DM Campus) Find-Me-Print queues utilize Papercut print management with Xerox Altalink and Versalink devices which are located in general areas around both campuses. Print your document to either of the global print queues and it will be available to release at any connected printer. Swipe your badge or enter your DMU username and password, and you can release them using the Papercut menu. Important Info: The print queues for DM and WDM campus are separate. You cannot print to the DM campus print queue and release it from the WDM campus print queue, and vice versa. Students will need to add money to their Papercut account in order to print or make copies. Direct Print Queues There are also a number of individual print queues for select printers around campus. These printers have special functions/uses or are in isolated areas. These printers may be restricted to specific users/groups. Installation: Follow the instructions linked below to walk you through installing the printers on either a DMU issued/managed computer or a Personal computer.
