Powerpoint - File Block Settings Preventing Save/Open of PPTX files
Follow the steps below if you're receiving an error when trying to Open or Save a Powerpoint file. Note: The steps below are for Windows version of Office / Powerpoint. Error Message: You are trying to Open/Save a file type that has been blocked by your File Block Settings in the Trust Center. Open the Trust Center in PowerPoint: 1. Click the File tab on the ribbon (upper left corner) 2. Click Options (lower left corner) 3. Select Trust Center (left side) and click Trust Center Settings (right side) 4. Select File Block Settings (left side) 5. Uncheck the boxes under Open and Save for each file type you want to use and click OK. (You will most likely only need to unblock the first type)

Outlook - Replying to an Email Automatically Appends Myself
Article to address an issue where replying to any email in the inbox automatically appends the individual in the "to" field of the email. If not caught, this will send an email to yourself repeatedly until addressed. An example of the error is shown in the screen shot below, along with corresponding instructions on how to fix it. If issues persist after running through the instructions listed, please reach out to the Solutions Hub. To correct this issue, please follow the instructions below: Click Start. Type in "Add or remove programs" without quotations. Hit Enter. Navigate to Microsoft Office 365 and click on it. Select Modify. Click Yes on the confirmation prompt. Select Quick Repair and click the Repair button. Once the Office Repair has finished, restart your computer and check to see if the program was resolved. If issues persist, repeat these steps and select Online Repair instead of Quick Repair. If issues persist beyond this, please reach out to the Solutions Hub directly via phone or email.

How to: Export/Backup OneNote Notebooks from OneDrive
This method will walk you through changing the "sync location" of the Notebook. The "sync location" is where the notebook and its contents are saved. If you have created a notebook and used your DMU licensed OneDrive account, you may want to change where the Notebook is saved for backup purposes. This will walk you through using the OneNote 2016 Desktop version of OneNote for Windows. You can download that version here: https://onenote.com/download IMPORTANT: There is currently no way to export notebooks from OneDrive using the Mac or App versions of OneNote. 1. Open OneNote 2. Open all Notebooks you wish to export 3. Ensure all Notebooks have completed their sync 4. Click File and find the Notebook you wish to export 5. Click Settings 6. Click Properties 7. Click Change Location 8. Select where you want the Notebook to sync (save) 9. Click OK 10. Click OK 11. OneNote will now copy the contents to the new location If you receive an error about some content may not be synced; Cancel the action and try syncing the Notebook again. You can repeat the steps as needed for each Notebook.

Solution: Zoom Outlook Add-in Missing
Article is intended to address an issue where the Zoom Outlook add-in disappears from the settings bar. Check that the Zoom Outlook add-in is still enabled. Open Outlook. Click File. Click Manage Add-Ins. Under Managed add-ins, in the Turned on column, ensure that Zoom is checked. Clear the Outlook cache. Save any work and close Outlook. Press Windows key+R. In the Run dialog box, enter %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook and press Enter. Double-click the RoamCache folder to view the cache files. NOTE: It is not a bad idea to back up the cache files to another folder or external hard drive so that you can restore the files if something goes wrong. To delete the cache files, press and hold the Shift key while selecting all of the files. Then press the Delete key, or right-click the highlighted files and select Delete. If you're prompted to confirm the deletion, select Yes.

Error states: "Sorry, we couldn't open https://[sharepoint]/[filename]" Behavior: You are attempting to open a file locally cached on your computer from OneDrive or Sharepoint. You are attempting to open a file from Sharepoint (web) in the desktop version of an app Solution: 1. Close all Office programs (including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc). 2. Copy and paste the following into the Windows start menu or file explorer address bar: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\ and press ENTER (Start menu) (File explorer) 3. Find the OfficeFileCache folder 4. Select the folder and delete it.

Outlook - Viewing Address Book Calendars
Keep reading to learn how to open and view address book calendars from the Outlook desktop application for Windows. This includes individuals' personal calendars, shared group calendars, and cohort calendars. Open Outlook and navigate to your personal calendar. From the top toolbar, click "Add Calendar" and then select "From Address Book...". Search for the calendar you want. Then double-click the name of the person, group, or cohort to add it to the "Calendar" selection at the bottom of the window and click "OK". Note: If you're having trouble finding the desired calendar, change the Search option at the top to "All columns" and try your search again. The selected calendar will open momentarily beside your personal calendar. If you don't see any meetings on the calendar at first, give it a minute to finish loading. [Note: Calendar permissions vary. You may have permission to view full appointment details for the selected calendar, or you may only be able to view free/busy information.] Helpful Tips After you've opened a calendar once, it will appear in the left side panel under your "Shared Calendars" list (until you clear out your shared calendars). Just click the name to select it and open the calendar.

Outlook - Unable to Open Links to Files on Mapped Drives (W:)
Reported behavior: You open an email that has a link to a file that is located on your W: drive (DepartmentDrives). When you click the link to open the file, you get an error message from Windows stating "Something unexpected has gone wrong when opening this URL." Solution: Add *.dmu.edu to your Trusted Sites in Internet Options. 1. Open the Windows START menu 2. Type Internet Options and press Enter 3. Click the Security tab > Trusted sites > and click the Sites button 4. Type *.dmu.edu in website box > Uncheck "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in the this zone > Click Add 5. Click Close > Ok Now when you click the link to open a file you get a warning about a potential security concern. This is normal. 6. Verify the file name, path, etc and click Yes.
